Helsinki Golf Club appoints Spogárd & VanderVaart

"It is a truly unique golf course situated in the heart of one of Europe's Capital cities. The course is laid out in a historic park with mature trees, streams and other great features. Like many of the older golf courses, it faces the challenge of living up to more modern standards in terms of both playability and safety. Creating a long term masterplan will help the club make sure they develop in the right direction moving forward. It is our first project in Finland and we are excited to work closely with the Club to help them achieve - and exceed - their ambitions, by optimizing the potential of the land" says Philip Spogárd, Principal Golf Course Architect of Spogárd & VanderVaart Golf Course Architects.

The masterplanning has been ongoing since the summer of 2014.

Helsinki GC is the latest historic golf club, following clubs such as County Louth GC in Ireland and Hilversumsche GC in the Netherlands, to choose Spogárd & VanderVaart as their architects.
