Laytown & Bettystown GC commissions SVV to create masterplan

Laytown & Bettystown GC is situated just north of Dublin, Ireland and has existed since 1909. It is a true links course located just 50 metres from the sea - offering fantastic sea views from many holes as the course twists and turns it way through the dunes. The course currently has 19 holes, which allows many different routings to come into play.

"Laytown & Bettystown GC will be our second project in Ireland, having worked on neighbour club Baltray (County Louth GC) for about 4 years now", says Philip Spogárd who is leading the project for SVV. "It is a terrific course! Full of charm and character. It is incredible that something which has been here since 1909 can still be considered a hidden gem more than 100 years later. The course has its problems in terms of a few holes playing very close to each other, but we hope the masterplan can solve these issues and turn the focus on the immense qualities this site has to offer. There is room to change a few holes so that it frees up space - and by doing so, we might create a few of the best links holes you can find anywhere. The land here is 10 out of 10", ends Philip Spogárd.

The masterplan work has commenced and the final masterplan is expected to be finished in the beginning of March 2016.
